Xbox 360 RROD

Tagged in Random Nothing on August 12th, 2010

So just like many other people I got the RROD on my xbox 360.

I tried the towel trick shown here

It then RROD again about a week later

I decided I needed to fix it.

I watched this video and felt I could do it myself.

I ordered parts from http://www.x-clamp-fix.com/catalog/

Believe it or not it works fine now.

Tagged in Random Nothing on July 9th, 2009

FOR MAC ONLY !!!!

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REMOVE CS4 FROM CALLING ADOBE

Step 1: If you’re still going to install CS4, make sure you install it as a trial (do not enter a serial number). If you’ve already installed and have used one of the expiring serials, load any CS4 app, go to the Help menu and Deactivate. Quit any open CS4 apps.

Step 2: Open Terminal (found in Applications/Utilities/). In the terminal window, paste in:

sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /etc/hosts

Step 3: Hit return and type in your admin password.

Step 4: A file will automatically open in TextEdit. In TextEdit, at the bottom of the document, hit return and paste in the following:

127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 practivate.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 ereg.adobe.com
127.0.0.1 activate.wip3.adobe.com

How to have custom Text Sounds on the Iphone

Tagged in Random Nothing on February 28th, 2009

Ok, heres what you do, sftp into your phone go to-
System

Library

Audio

UIsounds

now scroll down to where you see sms-received1.caf thru sms-received6.caf these are your stock sms tones! And to answer your question you will rename YOUR sms tones to sms-received1.caf and so on, for example:

“Godfather.mp3″, you will need to convert this with an audio converter such as “Switch Audio Converter”,to “Godfather.aiff”, then after that, you rename it “sms-received1.caf”, then you replace the original one with this one by dragging it over to the original one and copying it, a window will pop-up saying “do you want to replace this file”, just click yes!!! But when you look in your phone, by going to Settings – Sounds – New Text Message, you will still see your stock sms tone names ie: Tri-tone, Chime, etc., so just listen to them 1 by 1 to see which is which !! You can also do this to any file that has a .caf extension like new-mail.caf,sent-mail.caf and even the dialing numbers of the dialer. Sorry if this not quite “direct-to-the-point” but i’m really better at showing then explaining… Anyway, just post-up again if you have anymore questions. Good luck mate..
